For Self-Employed Hypnotherapists in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US

The Visible Practice

with Ernest McLeod

You’re good at helping your clients. Let’s build a practice that helps more of them find you.

You can be an excellent hypnotherapist and still wonder where your next enquiry will come from. You might already have a website, but do you know whether people searching for the problems you help with can actually find you?

The Visible Practice starts with real search research, not guesswork. I’ll investigate what potential clients are searching for in your area, or across the markets you serve online, and where your practice has opportunities to become more visible.

Then I’ll build or improve your website around what your potential clients actually search for on Google, while we work together on the client enquiry, booking and follow-up systems that make your practice easier to run.

A 12-month done-with-you business development program, with the technical website build done for you. No technical experience required.

The Problem Isn’t Necessarily Your Work With Clients

Being good at hypnotherapy and being easy to find are two different things.

You might be doing excellent work with the clients you see, yet still have weeks when the phone stays quiet. Perhaps most of your enquiries arrive through referrals, so you can’t predict when the next one will come.

You might even have a perfectly good-looking website. But is it built around what potential clients actually search for? Are the right people finding the right page, and can they see clearly how you help?

And when someone does enquire, there’s still the work of answering messages, arranging appointments, sending forms, reminders and follow-up.

You shouldn’t have to become a full-time marketer or a website developer to run a successful hypnotherapy practice.

We start by understanding the opportunities, then do the practical work to improve how people find, choose and contact you.

The Starting Point · Your Visibility & Opportunity Report

Before we change anything, let’s find out what your potential clients are actually searching for.

Having a website doesn’t tell you whether the right people can find it.

Before I build or change a page, I’ll research the searches relevant to the services you offer and the area you serve. If you work exclusively online, we’ll look at the markets you’re able to serve instead.

We’ll investigate the words potential clients use, which searches appear relevant to your practice, what they are currently being shown, and where there may be opportunities for your practice to become more visible.

You’ll receive a Visibility & Opportunity Report. It’s not a generic list of marketing tips. It’s research we can use to make decisions about your services, your website and your next steps.

If you’ve had my free Client’s-Eye Check, that was a three-page snapshot of what someone searching for your services may see. The Visibility & Opportunity Report goes much further: what potential clients search for, where your practice appears now and which changes may make sense before we build anything.

The research determines what we build or improve. We don’t start with a page count and hope people will search for it.

  1. What People Search For

Relevant phrases and the available search-demand estimates for your services and your location or target markets.

  2. What Potential Clients See Now

A snapshot of your current discoverability and the results and competitors they encounter: Maps where your practice is eligible, and AI search where it applies.

  3. Where the Opportunities May Be

A practical assessment of the topics, service areas and client questions worth prioritising, allowing for uncertainty and competition.

  4. What We’ll Work On First

A prioritised website, content and visibility action plan, with a starting point we can revisit at agreed checkpoints.

The Words Matter

In the Australian national keyword estimates I showed in my October 2026 presentation, “quit smoking” was reported at about 3,600 searches a month, while “stop smoking” was about 720: around five times as many for the words people actually type.

These are national, rounded keyword estimates, not estimates for your suburb, the number of unique prospective clients, or a prediction of how many clients you could win. Your own report examines your relevant location or target market. Some relevant searches have no reported volume, which doesn’t mean nobody searches for them.

  • quit smoking3,600
  • stop smoking720

We don’t start by guessing what your website needs. We start by understanding what your potential clients are looking for.

What We’ll Work On

What we’ll do with what we learn.

The research gives us a direction. The next steps turn it into a website, a clearer client journey and business systems you can look after.

Already have a website? You may not need another one. We’ll start by finding out what’s working, what potential clients are searching for, and what may be worth improving. I’ll do the website work we agree is needed. You provide the knowledge of your practice and approve what goes live.

1. A Website Built Around What Your Potential Clients Actually Search For on Google

I’ll build or improve your website based on the research, creating service pages (pages about the specific problems people search for help with) where the research shows they deserve attention. Whether you already have a website or need one built, we’ll keep what’s working and focus on the changes that make sense. I handle the technical construction and researched page production; you provide the knowledge and approvals that make the site genuinely yours. You’ll own it on your own domain and hosting.

2. An Easier Path From Enquiry to Booking

We’ll work together on a clear way for people to contact you, talk through whether you’re the right fit and book. We’ll put suitable forms, confirmations, reminders and follow-up in place so less of your time goes into repetitive administration. The personal conversation stays with you.

3. A Clearer Picture of What Is Working

Using your Practice Scorecard and agreed visibility reviews, we’ll look at enquiries, consultations, bookings and the changes taking place. You’ll have evidence for what to improve next, rather than simply following the latest marketing advice.

Found. Chosen. Booked. And wherever possible, built on systems you control.

You Don’t Need to Be Technical

Being good with clients matters more than being good with websites.

This isn’t another business course that leaves you with a long list of things to figure out and do yourself.

I’ll build your website and create the researched service pages for you. You’ll bring your knowledge of your practice, and we’ll work together on the business decisions and client systems.

You don’t need to be technically minded. Most of the hypnotherapists I work with aren’t.

You’ll get more than advice about what to do. You’ll have a website that’s actually built, systems in place, and the confidence to manage them.

I’ll also show you how to make everyday website changes yourself, so you aren’t dependent on me for every small update.

How the Website Build Works

I build your website. You bring the knowledge of your practice. We develop your business together.

This is a done-with-you business development program with a done-for-you website build. You don’t have to become a website developer to take part.

My Part

Building or Improving Your Website

I handle the technical setup, the overall website structure and the creation of the researched service pages, whether we build your website or improve the one you have. I use my own AI-assisted agents and established processes to make that volume of work manageable, and I orchestrate and oversee the build.

Your Part

Making It Yours

You bring your knowledge of your clients and how you help them. You provide your About page content, your slogan, the look and theme you’d like, photographs, and your practice-specific terms. You review and approve the pages to make sure they’re accurate, appropriate and sound like you.

Our Part

Developing the Business

We use the research to make decisions about your services, offer, visibility and the way enquiries become bookings. We work through useful client systems and simple ways to maintain what we’ve built. The work is collaborative, but the website construction isn’t your homework.

Illustration showing that Ernest builds the researched website, members supply their practice details and approve the content, and both work on business strategy and systems together.
I build or improve the website. You bring your practice. We build the business.

I do the technical building. You make the important practice decisions. Together we develop a business you can understand and manage.

See what the year includes

Found. Chosen. Booked.

A simpler path from being searched for to being booked.

The Visibility & Opportunity Report informs how we help people find you. Your pages help them decide whether to choose you. The client systems make it simpler to book.

  1. Found

Someone searches for help with a specific problem. Your visibility work and relevant pages give your practice a better chance of being discovered in suitable search results.

  2. Chosen

They arrive on a page that clearly explains what you help with, who you help, and what happens next. They can decide whether you’re right for them.

  3. Booked

When someone enquires or books, confirmations, forms, reminders and follow-up are handled consistently, with the personal conversation still coming from you.

We don’t control search rankings or whether somebody chooses to become a client. We can build a clearer route, measure what happens, and keep improving it.

How It Runs in My Own Practice

An enquiry comes in, I call them for a short chat, and they choose whether to work with me. From there, everything up to the session runs on its own: confirmations, forms and reminders. After the final session, a thank-you email and a 12-month follow-up sequence go out automatically. The only time I spend is the time I spend talking with clients.

Process showing a client's enquiry, the personal conversation and session, with automated confirmations, forms, reminders and follow-up.
In my practice, automation handles about 80% of my client admin time. The automated messages run through Apptoto, which is optional (about A$400–A$520 a year).

Whether Your Clients See You in Person or by Video

The research and the website matter whichever way you practise.

The same process begins every time: we study how potential clients search, decide which services and problems deserve their own useful pages, and build a website around that evidence.

If You See Clients in Person, or Run a Hybrid Practice

If your practice is eligible for a Google Business Profile (your business listing in Google Search and Maps), I’ll teach you how to set it up, optimise it and keep it up to date. You’ll receive a clear step-by-step plan and my guidance, and you’ll make the changes to your own profile.

If You See Clients Exclusively Online

The research and website work are just as central. We’ll research the services and markets you can genuinely serve and build useful pages around relevant opportunities in the regular Google search results. Google Business Profile training isn’t part of this pathway, because an online-only practice isn’t eligible.

Either way, the core program is the same. Both pathways include the Visibility & Opportunity Report, researched website development, enquiry-to-booking work, personal guidance and an ongoing maintenance plan.

Your 12 Months

One manageable stage at a time.

  1. Months 1–2

    Understand and Decide

You receive and we discuss your Visibility & Opportunity Report: the relevant local or online-market searches, what potential clients see now and where the opportunities are. We clarify your goals and services, identify priorities, and shape a clear offer that you feel confident explaining.

  2. Months 2–5

    Build the Foundations

I build or improve your website’s foundation and the agreed researched service pages, using my own systems to do the technical work. You provide and approve the practice-specific material. If your practice is eligible, I teach you how to set up, optimise and maintain your Google Business Profile, with a plan you carry out yourself; online-only members focus on their researched website and their plan for the regular Google search results instead. We set the baselines we’ll review later.

  3. Months 5–8

    Make Enquiries Easier to Handle

I finish the agreed main service pages with your approval, while we work together on the consultation and booking journey, appropriate confirmations and reminders, a lead magnet and follow-up emails. We use your Practice Scorecard to understand what is happening in your practice.

  4. Months 8–12

    Improve and Make It Sustainable

We develop useful content for additional client questions where the research supports it, compare results with our starting point, establish a realistic upkeep routine, and make a plan for your second year. You’ll also work on continuity and security, so the systems aren’t dependent on remembering one person’s passwords or procedures.

Milestones depend on your timely content, approvals and access, and the agreed build scope. Rankings, traffic, enquiries and revenue are not guaranteed. The detailed commitments are in the program terms.

Ernest McLeod

Why I Built This

I know what it’s like to be the practitioner and the person running the business.

I’ve worked with hypnotherapy clients since 2012. Before that I spent many years developing websites and software systems, analysing businesses and finding ways to make processes work more reliably.

Those two sides of my working life now come together. I understand the value of the conversation with a client, and I also understand the work that has to happen before that conversation can take place.

I founded The Hypno Coach and EzyQuit, and more recently taught Strategy-Based Cessation Mastery. I enjoy teaching, but I also know the difference between understanding a good idea and having it working in your own business.

That’s why The Visible Practice isn’t just about telling you what to do. I take responsibility for building your website, and we work through the business decisions and client systems together, in manageable steps, on assets that belong to you.

Why I Believe You Should Own Your Website

Years ago, a fellow hypnotherapist told me she was paying an agency A$800 a month to help people find her practice on Google.

The agency had built her website on its own system, so she had little control over it. The leads came through one or two at a time, but none turned into clients. When she questioned what she was paying for, she felt pressured to stay.

I looked into what was being done for her and couldn’t find much evidence of meaningful work. So I gave her step-by-step instructions for moving the site to her own hosting in Australia, and helped her optimise it.

The difference was striking:

  • BeforeA$9,600 a year

to the agency, for a website she didn’t control

  • AfterAbout A$150 a year

for her own hosting, plus about A$1,000 once for my help

These are the figures for this practitioner at the time, not a current price comparison or a promise about your results.

That experience reinforced something I still believe: if you’re self-employed, you should own your website and know enough to look after it. That’s the approach I take in The Visible Practice. I build or improve your website on hosting and a domain you control, and help you understand how to maintain it.

Moral of the story? Own what you build.

Small actions, repeated calmly, build strong businesses.

From Earlier Participants

A Good Fit Matters

Is The Visible Practice right for you?

You’ll Probably Feel at Home If

  • You’re a self-employed hypnotherapist, newly qualified or established, in Australia, New Zealand, the UK or the US.
  • You want people looking for the problems you help with to have a better chance of discovering you.
  • You can provide your practice-specific material, and review and approve the pages I build for you.
  • You value a website and systems that you own, rather than an indefinite retainer.
  • You can give this about three hours a week, and want support applying the work to your own practice.
  • You see clients in person, online or both. We’ll tailor the search strategy to your eligible route.

It May Not Be the Right Fit If

  • You want somebody to guarantee first place on Google, a set number of new clients or a particular income.
  • You want paid advertising management as the primary service.
  • You want to hand off every decision without taking part, or can’t commit time to the agreed work.
  • You’re looking for a quick weekend fix, rather than a year of steady implementation.

If you’re unsure, you can book a free 30-minute conversation. It’s optional, and there’s no obligation to enrol.

Your Practice, Your Assets

You’re not renting a website from me.

Your WordPress website lives on hosting and a domain that you control, not inside a system you have to keep paying me to access. You can change providers or bring in another developer, and you can learn to update the content yourself.

Ongoing Costs Are Separate From the Program Price

  • Hosting: under A$150 a year with VentraIP in Australia and New Zealand, from about £7 a month with Krystal in the UK, or about US$132 a year with DreamHost in the US.
  • Domain: about A$23–A$25 a year for a typical .com.au or .com; the exact price depends on the name and registrar.
  • Apptoto: optional, for the automated messaging, about A$400–A$520 a year. Without it, the automated messages aren’t included.
  • Your usual practice costs continue: insurance, internet and your other business tools.

Third-party prices change. Any optional software you choose will be clear before you commit to it. Prices read 11 and 14 October 2026; sources in the footer.

The Investment

An investment in a practice the right clients can find, choose and book.

A$5,000 for twelve months, paid in full, or choose a payment plan.

You’re not paying A$5,000 for another business course that tells you what you should be doing.

You’re investing in twelve months of practical business development, starting with real research into what potential clients search for in your area or the markets you serve. We’ll use that evidence to choose what matters, improve how your practice can be found and understood, and put useful client systems in place.

And I won’t leave you to work out the technical details. I’ll build or improve your website and researched service pages for you, whether you already have a website or need one built, while we work together on the rest of your practice.

You’ll get more than advice. You’ll have research to guide your decisions, real implementation completed, systems you understand and the confidence to keep improving your practice yourself.

All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD), and every payment plan is a commitment to the total amount shown.

What I Can Stand Behind

The Build Guarantee

What I can commit to is the work I’ve agreed to deliver. I can’t promise a particular Google ranking, a number of enquiries, new clients or income.

By the End of Month 5

In everyday terms: the main pages of your site (home, about, contact and the legal pages) and the first ten pages about the specific problems people search for help with, or all the agreed pages if the research calls for fewer.

Your website: I’ll have completed your agreed website foundation, including home, about, contact and legal pages where needed, and your first 10 researched service pages, or all the agreed service pages if the research identifies fewer.

Your Google Business Profile plan, if your practice is eligible: I’ll have given you a simple, step-by-step plan to set up, optimise and maintain your own profile, and shown you how to use it. You do the profile work. It’s remarkably simple when you have a clear plan.

If I don’t complete the deliverables I’m responsible for, I’ll complete the outstanding work, and you can repeat the next intake free.

Your part: send your page content, information and approvals by the dates we set at onboarding, and give me access to your hosting and domain, and to your Google Business Profile if you have one, so I can include it in the research. The rest of your agreed service pages follow by month 8, and your sub-issue pages by month 12.

Already have a website? Once the service research is done, we’ll agree exactly what’s being kept, improved or created, and the month 5 milestone applies to that agreed scope.

If you see clients only online: the same research and website commitments apply. A Google Business Profile isn’t part of your program, because Google doesn’t allow one for an online-only practice.

I don’t guarantee Google’s approval or verification of a profile, the profile work you carry out, search rankings, traffic, bookings, client numbers or income. Nothing in this guarantee affects your rights under consumer law. The full details are in the program terms.

What Happens After You Join

You won’t have to wonder what happens next.

  1. You enrol securely online

Choose one of the four payment options. Your first payment reserves your place in the January intake, subject to the program terms.

  2. You book your onboarding call straight away

After payment, a welcome page confirms your place and your receipt comes by email. Please book your 60-minute onboarding call as soon as you can, at coaching.apptoto.com.

  3. We have your onboarding session

We discuss your goals, your current services and the people you hope to help. I explain what practice content and approvals I need from you, and how I’ll handle the website build.

  4. I begin the research and website planning

We choose the most useful service-page priorities, while you provide your About content, slogan, images, visual preferences and practice-specific terms. I handle the technical construction; you review and approve what represents your business.

  5. We join the first group session

The group starts in the week of 11 January 2027, with the recurring meeting time agreed with the group. Calls are recorded.

Fair Questions

Things I’d want to know before investing.

Do I have to book a call before joining?

No. You can choose a payment option and enrol directly. If you’d like to ask me questions first, the free 30-minute call is optional. You can also attend an information session.

I’m not technical. Can I do this?

Yes. Most of the hypnotherapists I work with aren’t technically minded. I handle the technical website work and researched page production. You contribute what makes the site yours, approve it, and learn the everyday changes you’ll need to maintain it. You won’t be asked to build dozens of pages yourself.

Will this work if I see clients exclusively online?

Yes. The core research and website work apply to you too. We’ll focus on searches and service opportunities in the markets you can genuinely serve. Online-only practices aren’t eligible for a Google Business Profile, so that training component doesn’t apply, but the rest of the research, website and business development support remains.

What if I already have a website?

You may not need another one. We start by reviewing what you already have against what the Visibility & Opportunity Report tells us. If the site is working well in some areas, we’ll keep those strengths and agree on the improvements and new pages that make sense. If rebuilding would be better, we’ll discuss that together. Either way, I handle the technical website work included in our agreed scope.

What exactly is the Visibility & Opportunity Report?

It’s a research-based starting point for our work. I’ll investigate relevant Google searches in your area or target markets, what potential clients currently see, where your practice appears and what opportunities are worth exploring. We’ll use it to prioritise your website and visibility work, and revisit results over the year. Search figures are estimates, and the report doesn’t guarantee rankings or enquiries.

What if I’m newly qualified?

You can build sound business foundations from the start. We’ll work with the services you’re qualified to offer, the clients you aim to help and the market you’re entering.

How much of my time will it take?

Plan for around three hours a week on average, although some weeks may involve more or less depending on the work underway.

What if I miss a group call?

The fortnightly group calls are recorded. The recurring day and time will be decided with the group, to work as well as possible across members’ time zones.

Will this bring me more enquiries, or a guaranteed ranking?

More of the right enquiries is what we’re working to improve, but I won’t promise a number of enquiries, bookings or a Google position. Nobody can guarantee that honestly. We research the opportunities, implement suitable improvements, measure what changes and adjust the plan. Results also depend on your market, competition, services and participation.

What will I own when the program ends?

The website I build for you lives on your own hosting and domain, and you approve its content. You can continue maintaining it, or use another developer. Some messaging automations rely on optional third-party software.

What are the payment terms?

Pay A$5,000 in full, or choose 3 payments totalling A$5,250, 6 totalling A$5,400 or 12 totalling A$6,000. The first payment secures your place. Each option is a commitment to its displayed total. The program terms cover payment and cancellation details.

What if the January group does not go ahead?

If fewer than 4 people enrol, I may cancel the intake. If I cancel it, or it hasn’t started by Sunday 28 February 2027, every payment is refunded in full and any remaining instalments are cancelled. The program terms have the details.

What about refunds?

Please read the program terms before paying. Apart from the cancelled-intake refund above, payments are non-refundable; the Build Guarantee has its own remedy instead. Nothing in the terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other consumer law that applies to you.

Can I earn CPD or OPD points?

Recognition depends on your professional association. For example, for non-hypno training the AHA allows 0.5 points per hour of training, to a maximum of 10 points of CPD in total. Please check your association’s current requirements directly, and I’ll provide you with a certificate of attendance.

Is there an additional charge after the year?

No. There’s no agency retainer or website builder subscription to me. Hosting, domain and any software you choose to keep using have their own costs, and ongoing optional memberships are separate.

Want to know a little more before deciding?

None of these is required to enrol. They’re here if they help.

Free Information Call
